Chandler had her art displayed this month at Jittery Joes!
Chandler is an Atlanta-based painter in her third year studying as an art student here at UGA!
For the past 6 years, she has been creating, selling, and distributing her own original pieces of abstract art work in Atlanta and Athens.
At UGA, Chandler is a Fabric Design major and a Fashion Merchandising minor in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. She has been concentrating on color composition and textures to enhance her paintings!
"I love using bold strokes and abstract lines to create loose images and completely abstract paintings", she says.
Recently, she has been exploring various weaving designs and integrating the stroking style of painting to her handwoven fabrics. UGA has had a huge influence on her most recent collections, which have been displayed in the Lamar Dodd School of Art and several locations around Athens -- most recently, the Jittery Joe's in Five Points!
Chandler reached out to the local Five Points coffee shop and had the opportunity to feature her artwork there for the month of February! She then got to work creating a lot of pieces to be showcased in a quaint coffee shop exhibit.
"I loved being featured there because Jittery Joe's has always been one of my favorite places to study and I absolutely love their coffee!"
We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished!
