What is a typical day like for you this summer?

I’m working in Austin for a landscape architecture firm. Most days Im either working on putting together design files that showcase what the process and final product will look like for the clients or drafting construction documents. Every now and then I get to design sites and render projects. Recently I got to help design a pool courtyard for an apartment complex and picked out plants for a large playground in San Antonio. Those have definitely been two of my favorite work days of the summer.

Favorite Quote?

Be the person your dog thinks you are.

What is you dream job?

Being a principal landscape architect designing large urban plazas and other public developments.

Most memorable experience in Chi O?

I was a sophomore living in Chi O and the power went out all over Athens, so we didn’t have class for a few days. Just about the whole pledge class stuffed into a room and we were all picking surprise dates for each other for My Tie date night. It was so fun to realize how we all knew everyone well enough to pick dates for each other. One of the matches turned out so well, and they have been dating for about two years now. Just crossing my fingers that will happen to me this year hahaha.

Biggest thing you’ve learned in college so far?

The world is actually so small. Everywhere you go there will be someone that has even the slightest connection to someone you know. Even if it’s across the country. It has taught me the importance of being able to strike up conversation because you never know where that can lead you.
