Get to know our vice president!
Emily is a rising senior from Cumming, GA and is currently serving in her second year on Exec. In 2019, Emily worked as the Recruitment Information Chair.
When she was considering schools to apply to, Emily couldn't picture herself anywhere besides UGA. In fact, it was the only school she applied to!
"I was born to be a dawg!" Emily said.
She fell in love with Chi O during recruitment after having conversations with members during the rounds. Emily said she felt comfortable talking to everyone and it was easy to be herself with people she had never met before.
That year, the current Recruitment Information Chair reached out to her and asked her to join her 2018 recruitment team, which allowed Emily to be slated for Recruitment Information Chair the following year. After recruitment was over, Emily realized she wasn't finished quite yet.
"Recruitment was a success but I knew that I still wanted to be on Exec, so this year I was slated for Vice President!" Emily remembers. "I have loved every second of being a part of Chi O and can’t wait to make more memories with everyone!"
Emily's role now focuses on motivating the chapter when it comes to academics. She helps make sure all members have the proper resources to achieve academic success and personal development. Emily also helps our president, Caroline, to support the chapter in different capacities.
She can't wait to watch our new members integrate into Chi O in the fall. Her biggest piece of advice? To find a specific part of Chi O to get involved in!
"Whether it’s painting banners, joining our Miracle team, or considering a spot on Exec, there is no better way to get involved than just jumping in as a new member!" Emily said.
